Jiazhuang Xu received his bachelor's degree from polymer material processing engineering, Sichuan University in 2009. In the same year, he began to study for a master's degree in materials processing engineering at the School of Polymer Science and Engineering of Sichuan University, and was recommended to pursue a doctorate in advance. From October 2012 ~ April 2014, he participated in the national joint doctoral training program in the research group of Orhun K Muratoglu and Ebru Oral, Massachusetts General Hospital. In June 2014, he received his PhD degree in materials Processing engineering from The School of Polymer Science and Engineering, Sichuan University and stayed on as a lecturer. He was promoted to associate professor in 2016 and professor in 2020.

His primary research area lies in polymer material processing physics, processing structure regulation, and the relationship between structure and performance research work. He has so far published more than 70 journal papers in high impact journals including in Advanced Materials, Macromolecules, Biomaterials and other journals, applied for 20 national invention patents, 11 of which have been authorized, and 1 technology transfer has been completed, and presided over the general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Sichuan Provincial Academy and the Provincial University Science and Technology Cooperation R&D Project and the Enterprise Cooperation Project.
